MUSCATINE, Iowa (Feb. 1, 2011)
Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS),
a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, today announced a 12 percent price increase on its Bridgestone and Firestone brand truck and bus radial tires, effective immediately.

–Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, is introducing the new Firestone-brand FT455 PLUS trailer tire. Built for exceptional fuel efficiency without sacrificing removal mileage, the FT455 PLUS is approved for use on Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SmartWaySM-certified equipment and is ideal for fleets running California Air Resources Board (CARB)-compliant vehicles. The FT455 PLUS is designed for free-rolling positions, including trailer axles, tag axles and converter dollies. This tire will be available in March.

Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions Responds To Lower Tire and Retread Demand

(NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 3, 2008)
– Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) today announced that its Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) division will lay off approximately 60 members of its workforce in response to the current weakness in global business conditions that has resulted in lower truck tire and retread demand. As part of this action, BBTS will close its St. Louis, Mo.-based Oncor retread facility. “These have been very difficult decisions to make, but our leadership team has been working diligently on the future direction of the organization,” said Saul Solomon, President, BBTS. “Although we’ve taken a number of steps to reduce expenses while enhancing quality, as we continue on our journey of building a unified, customer-focused organization, it was clear we needed to do more. Today’s announcements reflect our commitment to make good business decisions that will benefit our customers and our business for the long-term.”

– Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, LLC (BFNT) announced today that Singh Ahluwalia, a 32-year veteran of the Bridgestone group of companies and President of Truck and Bus Sales, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS), has elected to retire effective March 1, 2009. Ahluwalia, who will also retire from his position as member of the BFNT Board of Directors, will be succeeded by Kurt Danielson, Vice President of Marketing, BBTS. Danielson will assume Ahluwalia’s duties and move into the position of Vice President, Sales and Marketing, BBTS. To provide a smooth transition, Danielson’s appointment is effective Nov. 1.
